My finals are finished! I had Biology and Chemistry today. I ended with an A in Chem, Bio, and PE. Spent every minute since last Thursday studying for those exams, so I'm pretty glad they're over with. The Bio exam was a lot easier and shorter than I thought it would be. Chem was a standardized ACS exam (American Chemical Society), so it was challenging, but I think I did very well. There were only three questions out of 70 that I completley didn't know. Yay! Plus my chem professor gave us 10 freebie questions because he's so generous.
I havn't gotten my English grade or my first year seminar yet, but hopefully I'll get them soon.

So, I'm leaning for Mississippi on Saturday morning for a mission trip. I'm pretty excited! I'm going with a bunch of the students here and my awesome Chemistry proffessor, so it should be a blast! I'm coming back on the 19th, so that gives me three days to do ALL of my Christmas shopping, which I havn't started yet...joy. I'm finding it quite difficult to figure out what to get everyone. I honestly havnt been shopping since Thanksgiving. ugh.

Well, I suppose that's all for now.

Spring Schedule

The honor's program registered this morning. I was in line at 7:30-ish. Got all the classes I wanted/ needed.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday:  9:00 General Chemistry II
10:00 Elementary Spanish II ( I placed into Intermediate 1, but didn't have time to take it last semester. Here, they only teach first level classes in the fall, and second level classes in the spring. So i decided to drop down a level so I could have 3 consecutive semesters of spanish so I wouldn't forget it...hopefully)
                                                       12:00 Wind Ensemble
                                                         1:00 Introduction to Sociology

Tuesday, Thursday: 9:30-10:50  Biodiversity I
                                     12:00-1:15 FYS II Consillium seminar

Tuesday: Biodiversity Lab 1:30-4:30
                  Community Band 7:00-8:50

Wednesday: General Chemistry II Lab 2:00-5:00

And that's all I guess.

College is stressful. That's all there is to it. So, I have decided to use livejournal as stress management.
So, classes are going really well. Schedule is as follows:
MWF
8:00-Principles of Biology
9:00 Perscriptive Fitness (MW only)
10:00 General Chemistry I
11:00 Writing anf Compostion
1:00-4:00 Principle of Bio (Lab) (W only)
3:00-6:00 General Chemistry Lab (M only)

T-Th
First Year Seminar (H) -Native American Culture (12:00)
Catawba Chorale (5:30) (T only)

Midterms come out this week I think. Expecting A's in everything. (I hope)
Honors students get to register witht the the rising seniors an entire week earlier than everyone else. So, hopefully, I'll get all the classes i want for next semester. It look like I'll be taking:

General Chemisty II
Elementery Spanish II (I got placed into Intermediate I, but it's onlt offered in the fall and I didn't have room in my schedule and I'm afraid to wait until the begining of next year to take a spanish, so I decided to drop down a level so i could take a class for the next three semesters in a row.)
Biodiversity I
First Year Seminar II (H) (Global something or other)
Woodwind Ensemble ( I hope there's still a spot for me)
Catawba Chorale...maybe...not really sure if I want to stay in or not though.

So, this semester I have 16 credit hours and next I'll have either 15 or 16. Not sure yet. I sort of wanted to stay in the 17 credit hour range, but it's sort of imposible at the moment, so I won't. Maybe next year.

Just finished my Chemistry homework, so that's a lot of weight off of my shoulders for tonight I guess. Titration equations weren't so bad.

So, I had a quiz in my FYS class today. I spent the morning reading the stuff that was assigned, but, much to my chagrin, I forgot to read a handout that was given out last tuesday. there were only two questions on the quiz, and one was on the blessed handout I forgot to read. So, that's an automatic 50 right there. Simply fabulous.

Chorale will be starting in an hour. i'm not too sure if I like it very much. i like Dr. Oakly, he makes me laugh and he's a good teacher, but I don't think it's for me. Once a band nerd, always a band nerd...which brings me to the ranting section of the entry:

LEDFORD SUCKS!!!! Ok, so here's what happened: Catawba hosted a contest here last saturday. Well, Piedmont did a phenominal job! They (wow...a few short months ago that was "we" *sigh*) won fist in Marching, General Effect, Color Guard, and Drum Major. Ande yet, Ledford fot GC...okay...WHAT?! We figured that for them to have beaten Piedmont by half a point, they had recieved a perfect score in music. Ok, had NO melody. ( I know I'm very biased, but still...their music was ugh) They were too loud ALL the time. Thety actually gave me a headache. And they used a keyboard...ok...for those of you who have not heard my rant about keyboards, in short, i think it's cheating. Anyone can use a keyboard to create a perfectly in-tune undertone to make it sound like there are more low brass playing in-tune than there actually are. Ugh. it makes me sick. Anyway, I think I'm done now. Moving on...

I'm going home for fall break on Friday afternoon after my 11am class is over. yay!

In other news:  i helped my firend Sarah move out of her room yesterday. her roommate has some...well...less than desireable qualities about her. I'm suprised sarah stuck it out for as long as she did. But, we moved all her stuff up to the third (and highest) floor of Salisbury Rowan. Now she has her own room. I'm happy for her, bu my back is still sore form lugging a bokkshelf and television up 6 flights of stairs.

I want to go shopping soon. I want to look at some new clothes...just because...and some new technogadgets. I sort of want a new game for Wii, although I'm never home enough to play it. But still. I just want to get out and do something. A movie might be nice. maybe I'll make Blake take me to see Eagle Eye.

Ok, this post constitutes as enough to make up for the last few month or two that I havn't said anything. So, mabe my next post will be sometime around Christmas...or whenever i need to blow off some steam. whatever. By the way, I'm too lazy to go back and fix typos. I've ceased to care.

I GOT TUITION EXCHANGE AT CATAWBA COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAAAAYY!!!!! WHOOO!!!!!
Phew. Just had to get that one out. haha. i finally feel like I'm semi-almost there when it comes to going to college. So I guess there's a 75% chance that I'll be attending Catawba College next year. I really wanted Elon, but Catawb is really great too. plus they're giving me $100,000...yes I said $100,000, so I'm pretty excited about that.

okay. I deem this post "finished"

So, as it turns out, I didn't get Tuition Exchange from Gardner Webb...which leaves me out of options. I"m visiting Catawba this weekend, and so far I have really liked it. I just hope I fell the same way after I get to take the actual tour. I feel like I'm going crazy. it was a pretty crappy day when I found out that I didn't get tuition exchange from Elon and that I made the wait list for Furman...joy *sarcasm*. Trying to find a college is starting to be a real pain in the butt, not to mention it's a great way to raise my self esteem *also sarcasm*
It makes me feel like a failure when I try so hard to get what i want, I get it, but then as it turns out, i can't pay for it. I hate how the post-secondary education system is all about minorities, poor, and the rich. There isn't any help for people who make a comfortable salary, but not enough to pay for college tuition without going into debt. All the federal money goes to the poor and minorities. I'm starting to be against the whole affirmative action thing if i can't even get anything but the legislative tuition grant to help me pay for college. Loans are gonna be crappy too. intrest rates are through the roof. Jerks.
Sorry about that rant. Just had to put it out there.
On another, and almost as equally annoying subject: Solo and Ensemble is a month away. I am almost ready, but guess who isn't? Well, I'm not gonna mention any names, bu most of you can guess. Rarg. I'm afraid that we're going to fail miserably next month. One more confidence booster...
So, I think this rant pretty much makes up for the last month or two. It might even cover next month's post quota too.
Oh yeah, before I go do my math homework, I forgot to mention that I spent Spring Break in Orlando. Went to Disney and Islands of Adventure for the senior trip kind of thing. Sadly, it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. I've come to realize that a lot of my friends have changed a lot. I worry about them a lot more than I used to. Anyway, I was actually kind of happy to come home to get away from a different person I will not name. But I really want to go back. i guess because I realize now that I'm graduating in June and I've taken the ellusive "senior trip". It just wasn't what I was expecting I guess.
Ok, I think I've been typing long enough. My motto for the rest of the school year is "whatever" I find that if I care too much for other people, I'll just get crapped on (figurativley of course),. so whatever they want to do, I'll just let them do what they want, even if it could potentially make a mess of their lives. I'm done.
Peace.

Blue skies
smiling on me,
nothing but blue skies
 do I see
Blue birds
singing a song
Nothing but blue skies
 from now on...

...those blue days
all of them gone
nothing but blue sky
all day long

No Dumping Allowed...

I visited Catawba College last weekend...sunday, I think, Anyway, i love the campus. it's in the middle of the historic region of salisbury, and it's so great. The only bad thing is that they still havn't gotten my letter of recommendation, which is wierd because i mailed it last week. i hope it didn't get lost in the mail.

Also...this sign makes me happy. I don't care to explain why...it involves an embarressing incident. That's all i have to say about that.

I have a B in math...boooooooooooo.
I failed one test miserably and made a D on another, but other than that I had all A's and a couple B's.
English makes me want to bang my head on a wall repeatedly for about 3 days straight. Less than 12 more school weeks. Ugh.
Computer Apps is still a joke, but I don't mind it too much. I got to play with a tablet PC today. It's fun. I want one...too bad they cost over $1000...I can hope right? I presented my report on it today along with everyone else. I was the only one that got to play with the tablet...i feel special. ha! Take that freshmen! (JK)
Band is band. It's neither good nor bad/t's just there.

Well, that's about all I've got for today.
Adios!

PS: Flordidia is coming! Flordidia is coming! Yay condo! Whoo!

PS again: Stupid Daylight Savings Time. I want to punch Ben Franklin in the face for that invention...

Update

Went to Carson-Newman yesterday. it wasn't fun. It has been moved to the second to last on my list...which leaves me with not many options. I really want to go to Elon, but tuition exchange is doubtful, but I'm praying really hard for it anyway. Carson Newman is basically wingate, except older, and is 4 hours away. I think i would pick wingate before I went there. I'm not so sure about UNCP anymore. I just don't think I would be very comfortable there, but it's still on the list. It looks like I'm going to half to give up marching band in college, which makes me very sad. Anyway, I say all of that to say I won't be posting much for a while unless the spirit moves me to do so. I'm working on scholarships so maybe I can get enough money to make it in Elon.

Just wanted to say Happy Valentines Day to everyone! I actually enjoyed it quite a bit this year.

The apple pie turned out great for English. I was elated.

Keeping A's in all my classes. Not bad.

Found a prom dress. It's black and white. I like it.

Watched Troy the other day. Good movie. Depressing...poor Hector and Achillies...stupid Paris...

Almost done with Three Musketeers. i'vre been reading it since before Christmas. It's a good book, it just takes a while to get through. Yay Dumas!

Okay. The quick update is over. I'm going to sleep.

I'll try and update more frequently without the use of double spaced lines.

The last week or so has gone by so fast. Not that I'm complaining or anything. I'm actually really happy. Everything seems to be going right, for the most part, except for my daily spaz attacks. I keep injuring myself in unexplained ways. I also have a random craving for saltine crackers now...I have no idea why...

I havn't posted in forever, but things have been a bit busy latley. Last weekend i went out prom dress shopping. Found a few things I like. I hate prints...they look icky on me.

Ms. Hills class is special just like last year,,,ugh. Discrete math is not too bad right now, and Computer Apps is a joke, but whatever. It's really warm in there.

Emperata Overature is'nt my favorite thing in the world, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. I actually like Alvamar Overature a little better, but whatever.

Blakes coming over in a while for a video game fest...I figure it's free and my mom makes us good food...which is also free. Yay free stuff!

That's about all I've got. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm sure I'll post agian in aanother 3 months or so...lol.

Well, as it turns out...
CArson Newman (in Tenn.) has given me a full ride except for the $2000 room and board each year...but that's a really good deal. I would have more spending money, I wouldn't have a crazy amount of student loans to pay back, and I could probably get my own room that connects to a bathroom. I would only have to share it with one other person. That might be pretty nice, but I do want a roommate...maybe.
Anyway, the offer is really temptiong, plus Carson Neweman is only half an hour (or less) from Gattlinburg (my favorite place in the whole wide word...or at least it's on the top 5) I'd probably spend too much money at all the book outlets in Pigeon Forge. But, I do know that entire area almost as well , if not better than, Monroe. I know it a lot better than Charlotte.
Anyway, so I'm visiting CN in February (23rd I think) and so I'll decide then whether I like the campus or not.
It's just so hard to choose because, I've sort of written Furman off of my list. Even if i did get a humungous scholarship, I'd still be paying a butt load of money after college. I don;t klnow if four years of school, however great it may be, is worth that debt hanging over my and my marents heads.  Elon's a little cheaper, so if i got Tuition exchange there, i might could get by, but my parents told me I would have waaaaaaay less spending money unless I got a job....rrrgggg.
So I guess I'll decide after i get all the scholarship stuff in.
And now for a completley random topic....I finally got a new phone. It's very orange. i like it.

i can finally text people yay! The best part is that it's unlimited. yay!
Yeah, I think I'm done. I have to go to Medford's Physics review in a couple hours...

I'm finally done with written Harris Tests. I ended up with a 92 on my shark test. Not bad... I start the mudpuppy when I get back. I'm thinking about naming him/her Pedro...or maybe Jose...it depends on what it looks like...
I'm sort of ready for Christmas, but for every day Christmas get's closer, so does going back to school...rrrrggg.
Oh... I almost forgot. I got into Elon! I found out last Wednesday. Now I just have to see about Furman. I have to wait until MArch...argg.
I hope everyone has a good Christmas/ New  Year!

It's almost Christmas. I'm so ready for a break. Ughh...
I have Harris Test 5 tomorrow...the last one ever! Whoo! I've managed to keep a 95 average this six weeks. Everyone else is either failing or barley passing, except for a couple other people.
I started my shark today.  My lab partner and I named him (or her...we havn't gotten that far yet) Basil...yes like the herb. His namesake is a waiter at Olive Garden whom I have never met.
I think that about covers it...
8 days till Christmas!

I just took the first of a series of really humungous tests for Bio 2.  Five pages...I know I shouldn't complain, seeing as our next test has like 8, but still, It's a lot to learn, especially when you have to learn it all out of the book with no teacher assistance. rrrggg....anyway, in random events i feel i must share with the world:
 I'm getting bangs tomorrow. Yay.
I got a $34,000 scholarship to Charleston Southern today. Goody!

That's about it....I'll try and post a picture of my bangs tomorrow...if I remember, I mean if anyone really cares.

I'll leave you all with this picture...just because it makes me happy!!!!!!!

Something I forgot to mention...

I found out last week that I was accepted to Carson Newman College (it's in Tennessee...)
I found out yesterday that I was accepted to Charleston Southern University. They're already asking for money.
I find out about Elon on December 19th...or was it 17th? I don't remember. I'm getting pretty nervous about Elon and Furman both.
And I learned something new today. Who'd have guessed that painkillers cause motion sickness. I couldn't even make it 5 minutes in a car without feeling sick... I have no idea how I'm going to be able to drive to school on monday. Greeeeaaat.....

I'm sort of getting back to the world of the living. Thanksgiving Break can be summed up with this sentance: Thank God for Hydrocodon. In case you didn't know, i got my wisdom teeth out (all 4 of them) on Wednesday.) I really didn't swell up as bad as a lot of people usually do. I was glad that i was able to eat on thanksgiving. Granted, it was mostly the soft stuff, but hey, I got my turkey, deviled eggs, adn my cranberry sauce. Anyway, I'm doing okay today. I might even feel up to going shopping tomorrow, but only for a little while. The drugs they have me on make me really tired. I spent today helping my parents put up our Christmas tree. YAY CHRISTMAS!!
I hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving! Have a good rest of break!

Wow...It's been 4 or 5 weeks since I posted last. Senior year is crazy. I finally got the important, top priority schools aplied to and out of the way. I'm working on my essay for UNC Pembroke, and I think I'm going to look at a few other colleges without marching bands. Catawba is getting one soon.
Anyway, all my time has been devoted to this infamous "mouse trap car" for Physics. I've spent three days total ( I mean 72 hours...well, minus 7 hours of sleep...lets say  50-ish hours on this stupid thing with few good results. I pretty much spent ALL (and I do mean All of my veterans day working on it. I basically figured out what doesn't work. Sorry...forgot to end the parenthesis. It bugs me when i do that.  ))
I need to put a picture of all my multiple usless contraptions to outline the gravity of my situation. All I have to say is thank goodness I have a dad who is good with mechanics etc...
Oh yeah...I'm now hooked on House thanks to Jana. Yay sarcasm!
Well, I'm not really done, but I'm about to fall asleep in front of my computer. So goodnight all. I'll try and make another post after all the carzyness (I know that's not how you spell it) is over. Adios!
